I ventured into the world of Environmental management over 15 years ago in 2006 when I diversified from leading the Finance Team at Aylesford Newsprint, a Recycled Newsprint manufacturer, to creating and developing their ‘Secondary Products Department’ successfully diverting over 80% of the paper mill waste materials (>100,000T) from landfill to be innovatively re-used, recovered or recycled.
Moving to being an independent consultant in 2014 I’ve worked with the Recycling Industry and other manufacturing and construction industries evaluating business propositions to recycle materials using a wide range of different technologies, and producing finance business plans for recycling plants, MRFs and Sortlines.
I’ve managed recycling project teams, negotiated and managed on-site Waste Management contracts, gained permits for clients starting up recycling plants, and am renowned for successfully gaining ‘End of Waste’ status for a variety of materials from the Environment Agency.
I am also a qualified accountant with over 20 years’ experience of leading Finance teams in a manufacturing environment. Having gained a thorough understanding of how recycling operations function in practice, I can offer the best advice on how to improve profitability and how to get a new investment successfully up and running.
My qualifications include an MBA in International Finance and a degree in Combined Mathemathics and Physics. I’m analytic in my approach to problem-solving and have a proven capability to quickly understand how different technologies work and plant operates.
